BENEFITS
Spearmint contains vitamins, antioxidants, and vital nutrients. Its aroma is very similar to that of peppermint. It contains less menthol than peppermint, but it is rich in limonene, dihydrocarvone, and cineol. It has a sweeter taste than peppermint. Studies have shown that spearmint may be beneficial for improving memory, respiratory system, relieving pain and dealing with allergies. Some people use spearmint to help alleviate symptoms of nausea,indigestion, gas, headache, toothache, cramps, and sore throat.
It is also applied topically, to the skin, to help reduce swelling due to nerve or muscle pain. Spearmint has very similar benefits to other mint varieties including peppermint
WAY TO PREPARE
Spearmint is commonly drunk as tea, used as an essential oil, or as a herbal medicine in the form of a capsule or tincture. Spearmint is also used commonly in desserts such as ice cream and other baked goods.
